What Foods We Can’t Eat After Surgery?
After surgery, you’ll need to avoid eating hot and spicy foods because they will irritate the incision site.
You also need to avoid consuming alcohol. If you consume alcohol, you may delay the healing process because alcohol has a tendency to increase pain and swelling.
You need to avoid eating chewy or sticky foods as these foods can cause discomfort because they require a lot of chewing. In addition, foods such as popcorn, chips, nuts, crackers and candies should be avoided. Small pieces of these foods may get stuck in the incision area, which may cause an infection.
Which Foods Should We Eat After Surgery?
Applesauce is a good food to eat after surgery because of its texture. It is also rich in vitamin C and dietary fiber. In addition, eating applesauce does not require a lot of jaw movement.
Broth-based soup is another great food to eat after dental implant surgery. The soup should be warm, not hot. Broth-based soups are an important source of protein.
Mashed potatoes are soft with high in fiber. You can add cheese, gravy and butter to the mashed potatoes to add flavor.
Yogurt is a good choice if you are craving something sweet. But please avoid yogurt with nuts and candies.
Instant oatmeal can be consumed a few days after surgery. You need to wait a few days to eat oatmeal because oatmeal will irritate your gums.
